(Memphis) The man accused of shooting two Memphis police officers and killing one of them couldn’t make to court Monday.

Treveno Campbell is in the hospital suffering from gun shot wounds after the officers returned fire.

The second suspect involved in the shooting did make it to court but he’s already out on bond.

Meanwhile, as investigators continue to collect evidence, a memorial is growing outside the East Memphis home.

It’s where officer Martoiya Lang was shot and later died. 

Jerry Benya brought flowers, “I wanted to show some respect to someone whose four kids now don`t have a mother.”

“That’s what makes it so sad,” said Richard Hill.  “They will never see their mother again.”
 
Police say as Officer Lang served a drug warrant at the house, Campbell opened fire.

Willie Braddock was also in the house but police say he didn’t shoot.  

Instead, Braddock was arrested for having 13 bags of marijuana. 

Monday, he was in court facing those charges.
 
“Don’t have anything to talk about,” said Braddock to our news camera.
 
After the hearing, Braddock was free to leave. 

That’s because he paid his $40,000 bond over the weekend and got out of jail.

“I can’t believe that!” said Hill.  “I can’t believe that. He’s out on bail!”
 
And when Friday’s shooting happened, Braddock was already out on bond for a drug charge. 

In June, police say he had plenty of painkillers with intent to sell them. 

Then six weeks later, he was arrested again with more drugs.
 
“This is how they make their money selling illegal drugs and now that he is back out on bond, how do you think he is going to make his money?” said Benya.
 
One place he won’t be selling drugs is back at his Raliegh apartment.

 After seeing him on the news, Braddock’s property manager evicted him.

He is due back in court on the drug charges on January 2. 

In the meantime, since the accused shooter is still in the hospital, Campbell’s court date has been pushed back until Thursday.
