Memphis, Tenn. — Memphis police responded to two separate shootings in Southeast Memphis.

Both around noon Sunday.

The first shooting was in the 1700 block of Morlye Street near Sharpe Elementary School.

Police said they found a man with a gunshot wound who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are looking for two males both wearing white shirts in a white car.

The second shooting was in the 600 block of Patterson Street at the Southern Woods Apartments near the University of Memphis.

Police said they found another man with a gunshot wound, he was later pronounced dead at the scene.

One person has been detained, but no one has been charged.

Police said at this time it does not appear that these shootings are connected.
