MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Police Department has confirmed a second person of interest in the murder of a woman outside of a Cordova home is in custody.
Susan McDonald was shot and killed Aug. 1 in front of a home on Bazemore Road in Cordova.
Saturday, Anthony Olivo, 36, was charged with first-degree murder.
According to an affidavit, Olivo said he and another man were planning a theft when McDonald was shot.
Police have now confirmed the man they believe may also have been involved in McDonald’s murder is in jail, however, not for that crime.
Police said that person was arrested on charges not related to the murder and has not been charged for the murder.
Olivo’s arrest came a day after McDonald’s family raised the reward money in the case to $25,000.
