MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Shelby County Medical Examiner has released the autopsy results in the death investigation of Officer Sean Michael Bolton.

According to the report, the 33-year-old was shot eight times all over his body.

Officer Bolton was shot on August 1, 2015 while conducting a traffic stop near Cottonwood and Perkins Roads.

From the beginning, Director Toney Armstrong has said this crime was senseless.

Armstrong said the accused killer, Tremaine Wilbourn, panicked during a traffic stop and shot Officer Bolton because he had two grams of marijuana on him.

Wilbourn’s supporters claimed he was just protecting himself, and he fired the gun when he and Bolton were in a struggle.

The report however was clear.

Based on the location and number of wounds to Officer Bolton’s body, this was no accident.

Wilbourn is being held on a just under $10 million bond.
