MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The person shot in the 2600 block of Long Shadow Lane was a Memphis Police officer, police said.
Police responded to the scene shortly before 1 p.m. Sunday. The victim was transported to Regional Medical Center in critical condition.
Police have not specified whether the officer was on or off duty, but the victim’s uncle told WREG the officer was on his way to work in his uniform when he was shot in his car. He was able to crawl back to the house to get help, the uncle said.
Police have not yet released the name of the officer.
