MEMPHIS, Tenn. –Memphis Police were called to a local daycare after a child was left inside and in the dark.
The Discovery Zone Learning Center is located in the 1600 block of Bonnie Lane in Cordova.
A mother told police she went to pick up her baby just before 9:45 p.m. Monday when she noticed the business was empty.
She said the doors were locked and her two-year-old son was alone inside.
According to the website, the center is suppose to be open until 2 a.m.
Police had to force their way into the facility.
The child’s grandmother said the boy was obviously upset, “I’m really upset because he could get into anything, he’s a two year old and you should never leave a two-year-old unattended. It’s bothering me and I’m so upset.”
WREG Consumer Investigator Zaneta Lowe said there have been ten violations at the center since 2014.
