MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Officials with the Memphis Police confirmed the shooting on Sam Cooper early Friday morning was a case of road rage.

The suspect was driving a white four-door F-250 pickup when he tried to merge onto traffic at Sycamore View at about 6:30 a.m. Friday.

According to police, the suspect became agitated and began firing at the victim.

That person was hit multiple times in the shoulder and leg, and was rushed to the Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

He had to undergo surgery but is expected to be okay. Police said Saturday he is no longer in critical condition.

The two-door black Honda Civic reportedly has at least 10 bullet holes. His back window was shattered.

The suspect is still at large. Police said the white four-door F-250 pickup has been lifted 2 to 3 inches and has five yellow lights mounted on the roof.

If you can help find the suspect or the vehicle, you are urged to call Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH.
