MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The suspect wanted for shooting a gas station clerk is also believed to be responsible for three other robberies early Monday morning.
According to police, gas stations on Rhodes, Getwell and Prescott were all hit before 6:45 a.m. Monday.
Several minutes later, police received a call from the 1500 block of Cherry Road near Dunn Avenue after a gas station clerk was shot at the Citgo.
The clerk was rushed to the hospital and is now listed in stable condition.
The suspect, an Hispanic male wearing a black and white bandana and a black hoodie, got away with cash, a shotgun and a pistol. Police believe the suspect is about 5’5″ and 130 pounds. He is likely between 19 and 23 years old.
He was last seen on foot, running westbound on Dunn towards Wanda Street.
In February, the same gas station on Cherry Road was the target of another robbery that left one man dead and another injured.
Officers said the store clerk, Abdelshakoor Sider, was shot and killed.
A suspect was charged in that fatal shooting.
WREG spoke with employees from the gas stations that were robbed Monday.
One said, “What I want to put out for business owners is to be very careful dealing with these criminals and to work on security for their locations.”
