LEE COUNTY, Ark. — Authorities in Lee County were called to the scene of a barricade situation Thursday night.

A representative from the local water company reportedly went out to the man’s home in Rondo to turn the water off.

As he was trying to do his job, the homeowner allegedly chased after him with a hammer, and then barricaded himself inside his home.

When Lee County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on the scene, the man opened fire.

WREG’s Wayne Carter was on the scene and reported a massive police response to the incident.

Arkansas State Police, the bomb squad, tactical units and officers in bullet proof vests were all on the scene Thursday night.

Arkansas State Police said they would not release any information on the incident until Friday.
