MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Kwasi Corbin is facing murder charges, accused of killing an 18-year-old and shooting two other people.
According to the affidavit, 19-year-old Corbin told police he used an assault rifle to shoot into the crowd at Peabody Place and Second Street.
Myneishia Johnson was killed, and Courtney Abston and Deire William were critically wounded.
Corbin had the weapon in his possession when he was taken into custody, police said.
The medical examiner ruled Johnson’s death a criminal homicide.
Corbin is charged with first-degree murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder and employment of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony.
