MEMPHIS, Tenn. —  Four people are recovering following a pair of shootings that happened early Monday morning.

One shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. in Parkway Village near Perkins and Knight Arnold.

According to the police report, a witness heard the gunshots and said he saw a dark colored sedan speed away from the First Tennessee Bank. Seconds later, three individuals ran across the street to the Walgreen’s and then on to Mike’s Hop-IN.

Investigators initially told WREG the group was walking on Perkins when a driver pulled up and started shooting.

One of the victims was taken to the Regional Medical Center. A second victim — a 14 or 15-year-old male — was taken to LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in critical condition.

The third person, Ramund Holmes, was taken to Methodist Central Hospital where he was taken into custody on multiple warrants including theft of property, aggravated assault and aggravated robbery.

The other shooting happened just after midnight at the Hillcrest Apartments on Raines Road in Whitehaven.

Police said a security guard was sitting in his vehicle when the suspect walked up, opened the driver’s door, then shot him multiple times.

The security guard was able to fire back — but police aren’t sure if the suspect was hit.

“I heard one gunshot,” said neighbor Harris Vernon. “I thought not again!”

The guard was taken to the Regional Medical Center in critical condition, but he is now expected to be okay.
