MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A shooting during a robbery claimed the life of a man on Summer Avenue early Friday morning.

Police were called to a gas station on Summer and Sevier Street just after 1 a.m. At the scene, a man could be seen inside a pickup truck, dead.

Authorities said two suspects tried to rob the man and shot him in the process.

Police also found another wrecked-out black Mercedes more than two miles away in Nutbush. They say it is connected to this homicide.

That vehicle is believed to have been stolen Thursday. Someone tried to burn it in a lot hidden by trees at Highland and Orchi.

The suspects were described as two men who were occupying a black Mercedes.

So far, no arrests have been made.
