MEMPHIS, Tenn. — One person was killed and two others are in critical condition after a shooting early Sunday in North Memphis, according to police.

Officers responded to a shooting at a home on Hyde Park Boulevard near Chelsea Avenue around 4 a.m.

One man died at the scene and another man and woman were taken to a hospital.

Police say the victims know the suspect, but haven’t said how.

Family on the scene identified the man killed as Gary Ballard, 40. They say he leaves behind two young children.
