MEMPHIS, Tenn. — One person is dead and another on the run after an overnight shooting.
According to police, officers responded to the 1500 block of Carpenter just before midnight and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to the Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators said the suspect is a neighbor who reportedly fled the scene after the incident.
Out of an abundance of caution, officers evacuated homes near the scene and secured the area. They then searched both homes for the suspect, but they have since concluded that the suspect was not at either location.
The suspect is still at large.
