MEMPHIS, Tenn. —  Memphis police are investigating after what appears to be a random shooting on the interstate Tuesday morning. The victim told police he was getting off I-55 northbound at the Shelby Drive exit when he heard a pop. He pulled into the Exxon gas station at Boeingshire and discovered he had been shot. He was rushed to the Regional Medical Center in critical condition. The man said he was not involved in a road rage incident and didn’t see who fired the shot. Authorities temporarily shut down the northbound lanes on I-55 all the way to Stateline Road in Mississippi looking for evidence. Police recently shut down part of I-240 near the Millbranch exit after a passenger was grazed by a bullet that seemed to come out of nowhere. “You never can tell. A bullet don’t got no eyes. It travels. It’s scary, but it seems to happen a lot around here,” a driver said. If you have any information call Crime Stoppers at (901)-528-CASH.
