TUNICA COUNTY, Miss. — Authorities in Tunica County conducted a search after a car with a woman and two children inside crashed into the Mississippi River.
The crash happened at around 10 a.m. Sunday between the Fitz Casino and Tunica River Park. Authorities said Symphony Wilson, 29, and a 5-year-old girl and 2-year-old boy were inside of a gray Chevy Suburban when it crashed into the river.
A family member identified the girl as Brenilah Moore and the boy as Cortez Moore.
Tunica County Sheriff K.C. Hamp said Wilson had just dropped her friend off at work and lost control of her SUV when it went into the river. He said the children were Wilson’s friend’s children, although a family member said Wilson and the mother were cousins.
A family member (shown below) identifies the children as 5 y/o Nilah and 2 y/o Tez.
The family member says she is devastated and that they were happy and loved babies.

The vehicle was later located about 30 feet underwater and about 100 yards from the bank, and divers with the Arkansas State Police were called to the scene to try to get the vehicle out of the water. Authorities do not believe the people in the vehicle are living, as the vehicle has been underwater for hours.
“Let’s be realistic here. 10 o’clock a.m. It’s after 5 today. The bodies are submerged. Nobody’s came up yet,” Hamp said. “There will not be any great results in this. This will not be good.”
Hamp said an employee of the Fitz Casino dove into the water after the car went into the river to attempt to rescue the three people.
The Arkansas dive team made the scene Sunday night, but the search was suspended until Monday morning.
