MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A shooting in Highland Heights left a woman dead Monday night.
Officers responded to the 3400 block of Lamphier for a shooting around 10 p.m. and found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound. She was rushed to the Regional Medical Center where police say she later died.
Neighbors said the victim did not live in the home and was outside when the shooting occurred. They reported hearing nine rounds and a car — possibly a white Nissan Altima — speeding away from the scene.
The victim has not been identified by police.
This is the same area of Highland Heights where an 11-year-old girl was injured in a shooting Sept. 28. Three men were arrested in that case.
