Years after a deadly police shooting in Hickory Hill, a Memphis mom is suing the officer involved.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The District Court dismissed the City of Memphis from the Darrius Stewart case on Friday, releasing the City from all civil charges. Stewart was shot and killed by officer Connor Schilling in 2015 during a traffic stop in Hickory Hill where Stewart was the passenger. The civil case against Schilling will still […]

A Memphis Police officer is facing questions from attorneys Thursday, more than two years after the death of 19-year-old Darrius Stewart in a traffic stop. 

Mary Stewart, mother of Stewart, is asking for $17.1 million from the city. 

Tennessee law currently exempts TBI investigations into fatal officer-involved shootings from public disclosure. A new bill awaiting the signature of the governor would change that.
