(Memphis) Today is the last day that Memphis International Airport will be a hub for Delta Airlines.

The air carrier made the decision to leave Memphis International a few months ago.

Their departure means an estimated 230 people will lose their jobs.

Delta is blaming high fuel costs and the predominant use of inefficient 50-seat regional jets in a small local-traffic market for their decision to leave the Memphis hub they call unprofitable.

The Fall 2013 Memphis schedule will be reduced to approximately 60 daily flights.
