MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Four people are dead after a head-on crash on Walnut Grove in the Shelby Farms Park area.
Officers were on the scene for several hours, and blocked the roadway to search for clues. One person was taken to the hospital and four people were pronounced dead on the scene.
One of the people involved in the crash is recovering this morning at Baptist East.
Four others, according to Memphis Police, are dead.
We know three cars were involved in this crash that happened around one this morning on walnut grove road near the Agricenter.
Police said a car was driving into oncoming traffic in the east bound lane and striking two other vehicles.
One of those vehicles caught fire.
When we got on the scene, smoke could still be seen coming from that vehicle.
We could see that one of the vehicles involved was an SUV and if you look closely, it also appeared that one car was thrown off the road.
Traffic on Walnut Grove is back open but the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
