(CNN) A former college football player shot and killed by Charlotte, NC police may have been running towards them for help after a car wreck.
It all started Saturday morning when a woman called 911, telling dispatchers a man had been knocking repeatedly on her door.
When police showed up, a man matching the description ran towards officers.
