(Shelby County) Local Internet radio host Thaddeus Matthews was arrested by Shelby County deputies while on air Monday evening.

Matthews had an active warrant for harassment.

He is now in custody at the Criminal Justice Center, and will likely appear in court tomorrow.

A woman filed a harassment complaint, and the warrant was issued the same day he was arrested.

A listener called News Channel 3 and said Matthews was arrested while on air.

Other listeners also commented on a recent Facebook post, saying they also heard the arrest occur.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office shared our Facebook post about the arrest, adding:

“The SCSO Fugitive Unit will go and get fugitives from anywhere. Local radio host Thaddeus Matthews was arrested at his studio on an outstanding warrant by the SCSO Fugitive Division while he was on the air earlier tonight. Great job deputies!”
