Crews have begun work on a new construction project at the I-40 / I-240 flyover. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2017. That means major headaches in one of the area’s busiest interchanges. The $109 million undertaking will widen Sam Cooper by one lane each way. I-240 from Walnut Grove to the interchange and from the interchange to Covington Pike will also be widened. The portions of I-40 on the interchange will become two lanes. Right now about 200,000 vehicles travel that interchange each day.
