(Drummonds, TN) Tipton County Sheriff’s Deputies combed over Watkins Road in Drummonds  looking for clues as to how a routine parole check turned into a fatal shooting.

Police shot and killed 26-year-old Jake Maese-Murphy.

According to the sheriff’s department Maese-Murphy threatened deputies when they came to his house to do a probation check on his father.

This last run in with deputies isn’t the first time the 26-year-old has had trouble with the law. From 2005 to 2008 he’s had well over a dozen felony drug charges in Tipton County, he was also arrested for domestic assault.

Cocaine, Marijuana and Hydrocodone are just some of the drugs that led to charges for Maese-Murphy. Deputies aren’t sure if Maese was high Saturday night. An autopsy will reveal that.

The TBI has taken over the case.
