(Memphis) A woman who stabbed her two sons the night of July 31st was arraigned Monday on two counts of felony murder in criminal court.

Jamina Briggs called police after stabbing 23-month-old Jeremiah and 6-year-old Nicholas.

Nicholas was supposed to be living with another relative after being moved from the home in 2012, and Briggs’s 9-year-old daughter was taken from her in 2007. DCS says it didn’t know about Jeremiah.

She met police at the door with blood on her hands, told them she was sorry, and apparently said, “The voices made me do it.”

The boys were taken to the hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.

Family members say the 30-year-old has a history of schizophrenia and other mental problems.

Briggs is at a state mental health facility, pending further order of the court.

She was indicted on two counts of murder in the perpetration of aggravated child abuse and neglect by a Shelby County Grand Jury.
