(Menlo Park, CA) You may want to take a close look at your kids’ Facebook and Twitter pages before they send out their college applications.

According to a new study, 31% of 381 admissions officers surveyed say they check an applicant’s Facebook page or other social media pages to learn more about them.

That’s up 5% from last year and is the highest percentage yet.

Fortunately, the number of admissions officers who say they found something that would hurt an applicant’s chances dropped 5% from last year to 30%.
