MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police have arrested a man they say is responsible for fatally shooting a man at the Ridgecrest Apartments in Frayser Sunday morning.

Officers responded to a shooting call around 10:45 a.m. in the 2500 block of Woodcliff Road where they found Darius Collier suffering from several gunshot wounds.

Collier was taken to Regional One where he was later pronounced dead.

At 10 p.m. Sunday, police said Carl Williams, 29, walked into the Austin Peay police station where he admitted to shooting Collier. Williams also told officers where the used weapon could be found.

Williams was taken into custody where he was charged with second degree murder.

He is expected to appear before a judge Tuesday morning.
