(New York, NY) Handwritten scribbles aren’t worth much money… unless you’re Bruce Springsteen.

Thursday, an anonymous bidder paid $197,000 for handwritten lyrics to Springsteen’s 1975 hit song “Born to Run.”

The starting bid was $40,000 and Sotheby’s had expected it to bring in somewhere between $70,000 and $100,000.
