City Council members once again put off the vote on a plan to buy AutoZone Park; they’ll try again next week.

After a three hour meeting, Council members did vote to amend the original proposal.

They want the city to pay $15 million for the stadium instead of the asking price $20 million, in addition to excess sales revenue going towards stadium improvements.

The council made clear that if this deal fails, it’s because of the Wharton Administration’s last minute tactics.

Attorneys say that compromise the council voted on likely won’t sit well with the Cardinals.

The final vote on the fate of AutoZone Park is now scheduled for December 17.
