(Sunnyvale, CA) An internet security firm says tens of thousands of Yahoo users, mostly in Europe, may have been infected by a virus spread by advertisements.
Yahoo says the ads that spread malware were posted Friday.
Malware is software that disrupts a computer’s operations or gathers sensitive information.
Yahoo says users of Mac computers and mobile devices were not affected.
