(Little Rock, AR) Governor Mike Beebe laid out a $5 billion budget proposal for the Arkansas’ fiscal year Tuesday.

Beebe says his proposal will boost education, human services and Arkansas’ prison system.

The governor’s request calls for an additional $105.8 million increase in state funding, with $65 million going toward the state’s public schools.

Beebe says $7 million would go toward county jail reimbursements.
