This story has been updated with information from the Memphis Police Department about the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is dead after he was hit by a car at Kirby Road and Mt. Moriah Road Tuesday evening.

Police say the victim was crossing Kirby Road when he was struck by a dark-colored mid-sized sedan with tinted windows.

He was transported to St. Francis in critical condition, but he did not survive his injuries.

The person responsible for the crash did not stay on the scene. Police say the suspect’s vehicle sustained a broken mirror as a result of the crash.
