Consumers often get excited about saving on purchases like clothing, televisions and food.  However, there’s a bigger bargain to be had if we save on our expenses!

This includes monthly bills and one easy place to start is by cutting your cable bill.  Here are some tips:

  • Contact your cable provider to negotiate
  • Be armed with a deal (know what your provider and the competition is offering)
  • Bundles may not always be best (assess your needs, go from there)
  • Keep track of when your current deal expires
  • Pay your bill on time
  • Be open to “lock in offers”
  • Call again if the first person says no
  • Ask to disconnect; specific department (these folks are focused on “retention” and you may get a better deal)
  • Be prepared to walk away
