(Millington, TN) A memorial for baby Aniston Walker could be in harm’s way.
Community members placed stuffed animals, crosses, and flowers where the 7-week-old’s body was found face down in a ditch in Millington.
The memorial got so big on Singleton Parkway, it blocks the entrance of a produce stand Jones Orchard, which is set to open next month.
No one got permission from Jones Orchard to put the memorial site on their property.
Police and people across the Mid-South searched for the little girl for a month when she went missing. A motorcyclist found her ten miles form her North Memphis home in February.
Aniston’s mother, Andrea Walker, was charged with her murder days after the body was found.
Neighbors like Heather Berland say a prayer every time she drives by the site and would hate to see something happen to it.
“It just shows people are open and care about things like this that happen, even if it doesn’t affect us directly,” said Berland. “They could take down some of the items down there, but leaving something there would be a good thing to do.”
Tuesday, no one from Jones Orchard would go on camera, but one of the owners told WREG it can’t stay there.
She wants it moved down the road so she doesn’t have to throw it away.
The owners plan on talking to the city of Millington to get ideas.
Andrea Walker is due in court on April 24 for a preliminary hearing. WREG will be there to bring you the latest.
