SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. – On Thursday, Shelby County commissioners voted to hire one or more experts to advise them on ways to increase the number of minority- and women-owned businesses getting county contracts.
Meanwhile, some commissioners were talking about ousting fellow commissioner Henri Brooks for violating residency rules.
Brooks also resigned her job at Methodist University Hospital following a highly publicized run-in with a hospital visitor.
