COLLIERVIELLE, Tenn. – Around 12,000 are expected to take part in the Memphis-MidSouth Race for the Cure Saturday, October 25 and organizers say it should be easier than ever to take part.
For the second year in a row the race is starting at the Carriage Crossing Shopping Center in Collierville.
The executive director of the Memphis-MidSouth Race for the Cure says parking should be a breeze.
“We have worked very hard with the Collierville Police Department and have created better shuttle routes. We have more shuttle parking locations. We are very excited about that. Eight off site locations and that’s included with your packet so you know where you should go. We also have over 2,500 spots at Carriage Crossing and we have field parking,” said Elaine Hare.
Hare hopes to raise over a half million dollars for Susan G. Komen.
She says 75% of that will stay in the community to pay for things like mammograms at area hospitals. The rest will go toward research.
The Race Store is now open at Carrefour at Kirby Woods Shopping Center in Germantown.
