The Memphis Ukulele Band features local favorites Jon Hornyak (NARAS – Grammy Chapter), Lahna Deering (Deering & Down), Jana Misener (Memphis Dawls), Jason Freeman & Matt Ross- Spang (Bluff City Backsliders) . The group will open for ukulele wiz Jake Shimabukuro at GPAC on November 13. They, like Shimabukuro, are on a mission to show everyone that the ukulele is capable of much more than the traditional Hawaiian music for which its best-known.
