PANOLA COUNTY, Miss — The State Fire Marshal’s Office posted a sign advertising a reward for information in the Jessica Chambers’ investigation at the murder site and around town.

The agency contributed $5,000 to the reward fund for information.

District Attorney John Champion told WREG the reward is currently $16,000, and it’s expected to increase.

Several storefronts in Batesville’s town square have the sign posted. One of the businesses with the sign is Square Arts.

“I think everybody is just they’re heart sick. Heart sick about what’s happened in this town and they just are trying to do everything they can to get somebody somewhere just to talk,” Square Arts owner Maribeth Haire said.

The Crime Stoppers phone number is 1-800-729-2169.

Champion previously told WREG this case has not had a great deal of street talk.

So far, there are no official suspects.

Someone fatally lit Jessica Chambers on fire along Herron Road, off Highway 51, a week and a half ago.
