PANOLA COUNTY, Miss. — Amid repeated calls for “Justice for Jessica,” there have not been any arrests almost exactly a month since her murder.

Someone fatally lit 19-year-old Jessica Chambers on fire December 6th along Herron Road, off Highway 51.

She died several hours later at a Memphis hospital on December 7th.

District Attorney John Champion confirmed Monday there are no updates in the case and the reward for information remains about $18,000.

Champion also confirmed the FBI and other assisting agencies are still investigating the case.

“They need to check into more people,” Panola County resident Kathryn Barnes said.

Surveillance video shows Chambers visited a gas station hours before her death near Highway 51 and Carlisle.

Barnes said it stands to reason that other stores’ surveillance video should show Chambers passing by.

Over the past month, many people have theorized about the case on social media.

Champion has said throughout the investigation that there has not been much “street talk” in Chambers’ case.

The Chambers family continues to ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-729-2169.
