MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The race is on for mayor of Memphis, the nation’s 20th most populous city.

The election is this October, and this week council member Jim Strickland ended months of speculation by announcing he’s running against Mayor A C Wharton.

He has a lot of money in the bank account to make it interesting, and claims he also has the support to beat an unpopular incumbent who’s had a rough year.

Strickland joined the Informed Sources to answer their questions about his decision to run.
