SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. — After a week of snow and ice the Mid-South, heavy rain is causing flash flooding in the Mid-South area.

Mississippi County in Arkansas, and Dyer County in Tennessee are under a Flash Flood Warning until 12:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon. Widespread showers and thunderstorms today with 1-2″ of rainfall possible. Coverage chance for precipitation: 100%. Winds will be gusty from the south, turning to the north, at 10-20 MPH, gusts of 25 MPH+ possible.

Tonight: Rain changing over to a short burst of rain/freezing rain mix south of I-40, ending past midnight. Lows: lower 30’s to upper 20’s. Coverage chance of precipitation: dwindling to 20% by early Sunday morning.

Sunday night into Monday morning: more snow is possible, which could cause problems on Mid-South roadways by Monday Morning Rush Hour.
