MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman is dead after being shot in Hickory Hill overnight.

At around 2 a.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 3900 block of Bald Eagle Dr.

A woman was found and pronounced dead on the scene.

WREG saw Memphis Police detain a woman and a man on the scene.

According to the Memphis Data Hub, 119 incidents, including burglary, homicides, and assaults, have happened in a quarter-mile radius of Bald Eagle Drive so far this year.

Neighbors say they are tired of crime in the community. “Just a few weeks ago, a guy got killed by sitting in his apartment. They’re breaking in stuff over here,” said one resident.
