NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The TBI has released the annual statewide report on crime stats.
According to the numbers, the amount of serious crimes, including murder, rape and kidnapping, dropped statewide.
The number of murders however jumped in 2014.
Reported murders increased by 9.9 percent.
Weapons law violations fell 2.5 percent.
DUI arrests were relatively flat, increasing less than .5 percent over last year.
