MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Police have cancelled a City Watch Alert for a woman and her 1-year-old daughter who were abducted on Wolfcreek Parkway. Police told WREG, Tokisha Craig and Kennedy Horton were found near Shelby Oaks and Sycamore View at a Motel 6 in northeast Memphis. According to police, Craig and Horton were at Davids Bridal when the incident occurred. A witness told police, Craig’s ex-boyfriend, 46-year-old Reggie Horton grabbed the two, forced them into his black 2014 Dodge Ram, and drove off. Police also said Horton stabbed another woman with Craig at the time. Officers said she’ll be OK. Around 7p.m., Horton forced his two hostages inside a Motel 6 room someone else was already staying in. “Extremely surprised, when we came up they actually had the area roped off when we drove up,” said Martin Golden, the manager of the motel. Golden said officers acted quick to remove Horton from the room. Police told WREG it was tips that led them to the motel. After talking for several minutes, Horton gave up and was taken into custody. Earlier in the day Craig’s father, Michael Craig, issued a plea to Horton, “I’m pleading with you Reggie, please send my babies home, you’re bigger than this, just please send my babies home.” According to records Horton was charged in 2007 for kidnapping his wife at the time but they were dismissed. Police did not discuss a motive in this case and family members of Tokisha Craig said they have no idea why Horton would do this.
