MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Shelby County grand jury indicted a Bartlett Police Officer on Tuesday.
According to one of the victim’s attorney, he was notified that Lucas Hines was indicted on two counts of vehicular homicide.
In October, Hines was involved in a traffic accident that killed two people on Stage Road.
Danny Floyd and Michelle Sloyan died when Hines’ patrol car collided with their vehicle here at the intersection of Stage Road and Bartlett Boulevard.
As it turns out, Hines had been in trouble with the department before.
He had been disciplined three times, once for falling below average on the number of citations and arrests made, once for not filling out time sheets for five months, and once for not filing crash reports.
His yearly reviews rank him satisfactory in most categories, but he was criticized for not using his time well, not being responsible, and having poor judgment.
