PARAGOULD, Ark. — A former OBGYN was sentenced to 36-months behind bars on video voyeurism charges involving one of his patients.

In court on Wednesday, Dr. Paul Becton plead guilty to the charges.

“Dr. Becton will never practice medicine again and will be under law enforcement supervision as a registered sex offender for the rest of his life,” said the District Prosecuting Attorney, Scott Ellington. “We are satisfied that justice has been obtained for our community.”

The victim agreed to the sentence to avoid having to share her story in open court.

The charges stemmed from an incident over a year ago.

According to reports, a female patient when in for an exam in April 2014.

Afterwards, she told police the doctor took photos of her during the examination.

Police executed a search warrant and found the pictures on Becton’s Phone.

Once released from jail, the 69-year-old must register as a sex offender.
