MEMPHIS, Tenn. — One of the two victims shot at an apartmentn complex in Frayser on Tuesday has been pronounced deceased.

The other is still in critical condition at Regional Medical Center.

According to police, the shooting happened in the 1400 block of Briercrest Lane. The police investigation took place at Corning Village Apartments.

People at the complex told WREG one man was shot in the head, and the other was shot in the back. Police have not confirmed that information.

“I’ve been in the hood all my life, so it’s a normal thing. The shootings, robberies, all that,” said prospective apartment tenant Tracy Freeman. She came to Corning Village Tuesday to check on the status of her application.

She said this news does not change her mind about the complex.

The person responsible for the shooting is not in custody.

This is the same apartment complex where a shooting injured five people last August.
