MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Another milestone was celebrated Saturday afternoon.
Ms. Verta Boyd turned 102-years-young Saturday afternoon.
Her family and friends held a birthday party for the proud Memphian at her home on Oriole Street in the Douglass community.
Ms. Boyd has been a member of the Douglass community for 67 years.
She was also active in the Civil Rights Movement and a strong supporter of Dr. Martin Luther King’s message.
