MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Tabitha Gentry, the woman who claimed a home after it was foreclosed,  has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.

After the sentence was announced, Gentry said to the judge, “May God have mercy on your soul.”

Last month, Gentry was found guilty of aggravated burglary and theft.

This was not the first time the 35-year-old has been in trouble with the law.

She is already serving a 14-year sentence for an unrelated event where she assaulted two police officers back in 2012.

The judge ordered the two sentences be served consecutively.

Gentry’s attorney said he will appeal because he believes the sentences should be served at the same time.

Then in 2013, Gentry moved into a mansion on South Shady Grove Road and claimed the home as a sovereign citizen not bound by the law.

The mansion belonged to Renasant Bank.

During the trial, Gentry refused to cooperate with her attorney and after several outbursts in court, was removed from the courtroom.
