MEMPHIS, Tenn. — TDOT announced it wants your input on a major construction project that they would affect tens of thousands of drivers everyday.

That’s because it would involve closing the I-55 Bridge for almost a year.

It’s part of a three year project to rework the interchange at I-55 and Crump Boulevard in the Downtown area.

TDOT said the work would start next spring and would shut down the bridge for nine months despite the fact that phase of the project won’t get underway until the spring of 2017.

Public meetings about the project have been scheduled with one being next Monday at the West Memphis Civic Center and next Thursday at MATA’s Central Station.

Both will be held from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. with presentations repeated so you won’t have to be there the whole time.
